What the original poster in this thread, and plenty agents/recruiters/schools that have never hired foreign teachers direct don't know is that to get an RP for anywhere in Inner Mongolia,the foreigners must have clean police checks in their homelands first.
The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is truly autonomous in this respect. In China, I take autonomous not to mean what it says in the dictionary, but to follow Beijing's regulations, not necessarily to the letter, and, more importantly, to introduce extra hoops for foreigners to jump through. The provincial PSB in Hohhot are a mean group of stuck-up cadres. That poster should take care not to give them the chance to screw him over for the maximum financial penalties. They will happily do so, believe me. I know from personal experience with them. Best for him to avoid teaching in Inner Mongolia, plenty other parts of China where he won't be unfavourably treated!
