Also don't forget the racism as well as the chauvinism. I know some people who have worked in south/latin america and it's pretty blatant. For example in Santiago the captial of Chile you get the absolute uppity up type neighborhoods that put middle class Britain and America to shame being occupied by the lily white ppl. Then as you progress further and further down the city the skin color gradually becomes darker and darker and the neighborhoods become worse. The Native South Americans are ostracized and put down everywhere there. Men will try and get as many women as possible and be proud of it. Getting drunk in public in places like Bolivia for weeks is supposedly common as well. Those who have a thick skull to these types of social problems will maybe find paradise and a place to stay for the rest of their lives. For me I probably wouldn't want to know these types of people anyway.
