Bloody cheek, you should show more respect to English people, to Scottish people, to Welsh people, and to Northern Irish people. After all it is their language you attempt to speak. The nuttiest FT's I ever met in China certainly were ex-American soldiers.

You can only show respect if it's warranted.
At least in China, there are many loons masquerading as teachers of English. Among them, the English tend to avoid mixing with other westerners. What's more, some from southern England are very stingy and stuck-up, just like most Americans.
The nuttiest, some of the Scots here, are out-and-out hotheads who flare up over trivial things. They tend to drink heavily, but aren't stingy.
