I seem to remember a couple of years ago that a different version of Youtube (specially censored) was available in mainland China. I think it lasted about 2weeks before it too was shut down!

but do like and can access YouTube

Through a vpn,or using your UK isp over your university network?

I was under the impression youtube was also blocked in China, along with facebook.
