Every country/culture is different. Here in Mexico, I find my students via the internet - I use 5 sites for my ads plus I have my web page. In Turkey, it was half from my ads on the internet and half from word-of-mouth. I've read that the mid-east is like that - recommendations are much more common than finding a complete stranger for something.

I'm curious how global Skype ESL teachers find students.
I'm also curious where foreign students find their teachers? For example, do Koreans or Japanese students find their Skype teachers via word of mouth, or in Korean/Japanese language websites or forums that are trusted? Do they just google search?
