Re: cctv 5

A good example would be the disastrous Win TV who bought the rights for the English premier league football several years back. I can't remember exact figures but I believe that they received fewer than 10,000 subscriptions across the whole of china in the first season of broadcasting

Re: cctv 5

The cable TV on mainland China is not and does not have a chance to be competitive. Some sporting events are well directed to the paid sports channel; however, some provinces have their own sports networks (like Guangdong or Guangxi) which transmit big tennis or football games.

cctv 5

Can anyone tell me what has happened to cctv 5. I watched most of the football on this channel, and was watching some of Wimbledon, but all of a sudden it seems to have been replaced with cctv with a few olympic style rings underneath, and now all i get is bloody repeats of womens basketball from past olympic games. What is going on?
