SM, "anything to mix things up" or mumbo jumbo? Of course an ORAL ENGLISH gig can be a white face obscure ritual, but real academic programs come structured, have goals and have to be presented professionally.
Cheers and beers
I don't use course books or "supplementary" material. At most uni's we must compose our own lesson plans, and often there are no textbooks.
Well said, but you won't be able to convince EG of that. At the last public middle school I worked at, the textbook provided was so painful for me, and the students, I just did my own thing, and the english teachers at that school actually thought my own way was better. I used clips from the bbc, discussions, a ppt occasionally, anything to mix things up. A real teacher will be creative and have his own ideas. EF sheeple will just trot out the same topics which the chinese students can't relate to at all.
