: I've posted my resume on Dave's ESL Cafe website and ESL Teachers
: Board and have had a number of inquiries from recruiters. I sent
: my application to a few of these recruiters about two or three
: weeks ago and have had no job offers thus far. I want to work
: but get the impression that things are moving rather slowly in
: terms of getting hired by a school. Am I applying at a time when
: there is little hiring taking place? Could it be that I am being
: by-passed for teaching jobs because I am an older male teacher
: (I'm in my mid-50's), who does not have a degree (I completed
: two years of teacher training in elementary education at a
: Canadian university in 1976)? I have teaching and non-teaching
: experience in Canada but not in Asia, could this also be a
: factor? Could someone fill me in about when the school year
: starts and ends in countries like China, Taiwan, and Thailand?
: Thank you for your assistance in this regard.
Hello! Your chances in China are good at that age. Email Chinese schools directly. For Korea you need a BA.
