Re: (Midnight) Runners

Even so, that public college is probably much better than private schools here or training centres, even if they go through the Z visa rigmarole!

What's the difference between a private school and a training centre? I know what the differences should be but I'm confused about this 'training' word usage.

As far as private schools are concerned(or private agents) most of us seem to work for them, even if our place of work is at a public school. Are private schools/agents/recruitment agents-whichever term you are comfy with, but they are all private enterprises, nicer than training centres-the latter presumably training you to speak English; whereas all the others seem to only be in the business of teaching and learning.

Most of us work for some sort of private outfit(the ones that pay the wages) is that true or not? Fewer of us are directly employed by a university.

Joke aside, a "school" that invites foreign teachers on an L visa is crap, and they should face all the consequences they deserve!
