I think the reason why so many complain on these sites is becuase they take these offers from crappy Language mills.
I have never been ripped off in China at all, and I put that down to refusing to work at bad "Schools"
There apre plenty of good schools in China so there is no exucse for work for mills like these. Do yourself a favour and keep looking

I have been sent a contract to sign by a private language school of Ningxia. The contract seems reasonable. I'm tempted to sign it, but the deposit clause is not so good.
From the contract:
1) 85 RMB/class of 45 minutes. guaranteed 16 classes/week.
2) The school will hold 10% of my monthly earnings until the contract's end as a deposit to discourage me from pulling a runner.
I think the deposit clause could be illegal, but I could live with it. Could you?
