Re: sam marsalli institute bad (santiago, chile)

I worked at Sam Marsalli in 2012 and would not recommend this place. Pay is once a month - which is standard for most jobs in Chile - but almost every month when pay day came around the boss (Sam) would say that a) he couldn't pay the whole amount (giving 50% then and the rest the next week) claiming that they were waiting for student fees to come in, or b) they'd pay the full amount the next week. This will put you in the uncomfortable position of having to beg/grovel for your money. There are some great teachers here who are really supportive of each other but the management side is pretty exploitive. Pay with Sam Marsalli was around C$3500 per hour but you can get upwards of C$8000 if you advertise privately or work outside of institutes (ie: homes/offices of clients).

i do not recommend teaching at this place. it has three schools in santiago, chile, and two in other parts of the country. the owner promises you a bonus, health insurance, regular pay, but does not come through with what he promises. the teachers have gone on strike twice since february for these reasons. there are better places.
