Re: Do you use a Tablet?

I have to say I am not impressed with tablets. I have a cheapo european made one, BQ, I think the brand is, and about the only thing it is good for is reading e books or watching low res movies on the go. It is too slow and sluggish for internet use, even with opera mini. I would not get an ipad either because of all the NSA and tracking stuff, I also don't like apples ethics.

Surprised to hear of the galaxy 2, thought that was good, samsung are usually good quality?

Re: Do you use a Tablet?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, it is ok and has served me well, but it is on its way out. You can probably tell when I use it when posting on here because my big clobberhands always bugger up the typing on what is just a 7 inch screen, leading to silly spelling mistakes.

I think I will get an i-pad next, not sure which variety because I'd rather a fully specced one than the mini, but of course it is nice to have something that you can fit into a coat pocket. The i-pad air is appealing though and there's keyboards and stuff that you can get as well.

Although people hate the i-tunes, the relative lack of free stuff etc, Apple's advantage lies in hardware standardisation I think. More companies seem to be willing to develop for iOS too.

If you aren't sure yet, you can get cheaper tablets for just a few hundred kuai with HDMI out etc, I used one to replace my netbook until the charger blew up. They could be a decent temporary solution.
