Then we have the meeting which is not really a meeting but a briefing session where the boss will hog the meeting and provide information that could quite easily have been sent by e-mail. Some leaders like this just seem to enjoy the sound of thier own voice and the exercise of authority.

So true... I know of one joint venture which pretty much fell apart as they felt that the boss on the Chinese side got too dominant at times, and in the end the foreign company which has a very good reputation that they would wish to uphold, had pure and simply had enough of the interference and bullshit.
