Even native Chinese professors get much more these days; so the salary of foreign teachers with advanced degrees should be the same. It's not such a long time ago that Chinese faculty earned much less than foreign teachers with lower qualifications, which was not right at all!

It is just nationalist crap that has been going on for a long time, but is coming to the surface even more so than ever before, because the powers that be know that the economy will f**k up in a big way soon. They need a way to deflect attention, somebody to blame. Foreigners are becoming an increasingly convenient target.
