I will reply as you seem to have missed my first post on this topic where I put the American spelling of 'luster' in quotes. As the original article was from the Wall Street Journal (an American publication) this spelling of lustre in only to be expected.

Now I haven't got the energy for a debate on American v. British spelling, so this will be my only reply.

Bit overly stern CL. It was only meant to be light-hearted. I never foresaw it as providing a vehicle for you to show solidarity and tacit approval to other posters. Never mind it's Easter and no room for gloom. Thank you anyway for the reply.
