Dear ESL Newbie,
Many of the Online Sites pay very little and demand much. I can tell you that ISUS is very picky in selecting teachers, and has strict requirements.
They contacted me about doing an interview- and then said my equipment was too slow- download speed was way too slow for their platform. I was told to get a new DSL provider and faster modem.
I told them that there was no way I would do that, and that they were being too picky. Other sites had no difficulty with my being able to work with them.
I am now seeing that I can do better teaching on my own than working for the mere pittance the Online companies pay you for teaching- and the stringent demands they place on you as a teacher- especially the where most companies now only keep you if the students like you
Suppose you have a student who complains no matter what- we all have had them- not because of anything you did but just because- these online companies will drop you.
