There will be competition to get any good job no matter where it is. Everyone wants a piece. And the converse is true, too. If a job is easy to get, it's (probably) not worth having. You go in to such jobs assuming you won't be hanging around too long. After being awarded the first world championship title of Mr. 'been-there, done that crap-job', I won't accept a job that is easy to get. Yes, I now apply only for jobs that have waiting lists. I've learned. I've also acquired the degrees, experience, and savings that allow me to do that. The power to say 'NO!' is indeed awesome.
