I have nothing concrete to suggest, but it is clear that you need to do something with and in your life that will take you out of this dilemma

I wasn't referring to me in the first person. I apologize if it sounded that way. I was talking (typing) more generally. At 37 I think I still have time to achieve financial freedom and security. No country or government holds me, I owe no debts nor any person anything, I am also unmarried meaning I have no burden of wife and kids for now, but that might change some day. I am fluent in Chinese and good at languages, so living in another country and learning a new language does not bother me. But thanks for your post nonetheless, you are right about a lot there.
