Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

Say thank you often to your Teacher Assistant and reward her with flowers for her hard work.

You will need all the friends you can get. :)

Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

This is called shit management and it doesn't matter if you are in China or not. So all the wumao posse can f**k off with their 'This is China' shite.

Good employers do not want employees to be tired, uncomfortable or late. Why? Because it maximizes productivity and prevents staff turnover.

However in China, many bosses aren't aware of that as their only qualification for the job is being the right person's cousin.

Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

In some places the English teacher accommodations are too far from the school. Buses are just
too crowded during peak hours and most of the day, also too slow and long waiting time.
It makes the school day 13 to 14 hours.

Many schools that don't issue z-visas send FT to many places; other schools, offices, agencies, private homes, even fast food places to teach a lesson. You'll be all day commuting and your day will be long... find a job with 8 hours a day, a resident permit n enjoy your stay in China.

TAs are just nothing more than spies and everybody knows that.

By the way, the sticker on that car is of a famous American skate brand. Judging by the size of China's skateboarding market, that car is most likely in the U.S and that bird is probably just a stereotypical Asian porn star slut.

Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

Although I have forever hated FTs that treat their work like a holiday, your comments just reek of Wumao bullshit.

Either that or you are one of those newbie foreigners with the tourist attitude and an unhealthy sado-masochistic interest in poverty. Somebody that craves the 'real China' and refuses to accept that all those Audis and BMWs are real.

Not to mention the conditions that you described... 99% of people in Chinese second and third tier cities would describe them as awful, bar maybe the lack of English speakers or McDonald's.

It seems that the wumao brigade and people of power in public unis are on this crazy mission to pressure FTs into accepting lower standards on the virtue that China is becoming a stronger country that needs not bow down to every second foreigner. Maybe so, but there are so many other countries that will give visas to decent qualified teachers!

Chinese people treated badly during the gold rush.

The Chinese did get treated badly, the English and Europeans were mean and cruel to them. Sometimes they would beat the Chinese up and burn there tents down. The English and Europeans didn't like the Chinese because of there religion, hair styles, different looks, different clothes, different dietary habits and different language and lifestyle. People didn't like the Chinese so much the governments had laws put against them like they had to be taxed if they came by ship from the shore or else they would have to come from the north of Australia and travel by foot to the gold fields. It was very unfair back in the 1850s Gold Rush in Ballarat. There was also a lot of stereotyping too.

Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

Chinese ESL bosses exploit our skin and we are nothing more than cash cows for them. I will not work more than I want to, that's it. Foreigners have every right to complain. Your country is dirty, smelly and unhealthy and you don't give a shit if it means more money in the bank.

A truly, horrible attitude. Shandong in particular is a vulgar place, full of vulgar people who stare at you like you are worse than dog shit. Fuck em, and there are many of them.

Once i'm done saving enough. Goodbye Shandong and your 1950's BS. You don't deserve foreigners, You deserve each other and all the lies and BS you guys peddle on a daily basis.

Re China is not a vacation tour. It's a JOB.

You forgot the schools trying to keep the teachers happy and even providing a few cute TAs to help them adapt in the classroom 8)

Out of 4 foreigner teachers, only 1 will stay. The other 3 will have problems with the air,
water, food, apartment, salary, utilities bill, noise, students, school's main office,
night social life, nobody speaks english in town, no cocacola drinks, no macdonald's,
bank account, holidays, slow internet, Chinese never smile at them.... Please learn to
adapt if you made this log trip. You are lucky not to be in the north for one day,
nothing there. You are in China, not in holywood.
