Shandong is interesting, I quite liked the german beer in Qingdao, can get a nice cheap pint there.
I do hope and wonder if the OP will reply to you, I am sure he will. Have fortitude and patience, I am sure you have both. Perhaps you can also ask if he can put you up in China, and hook you up with a cushy teaching job? Everything helps..

This is my first post but I used to read this forum years ago. I remember San Migs as a very fine poster with a good set of values. All respect to the other poster but no similarity in style. We all say the same things ,the same expressions and that doesn't mean we are the same.
Anyways; so you are from Shandong- interesting. I am doing some research on married couples involving FT's in Shandong. Is your wife from Shandong also? And if I can make so bold, what are both of your ages. I am thinking of writing a book you see on the subject. I start a job in Shandong next term I hope. I want to try and live the life of married Westerners in that province. Is it possible to meet up for a pint? It would be helpful?
