Re native & non native

I thought the wu dialect was more like a seperate language, just curious on???

I taught in Hangzhou and Taizhou before, and visited Wenzhou also, and found that in the south of Zhejiang the dialect is very pronounced. I am fairly certain it was not min nan as that is more commonly used in Taiwan and Xiamen IIRC.
