I've made it clear what I think the minimum requirement for qualifications to teach should be. I've made it clear I think there are widespread problems within ESL in China, not least the lack of a regulatory body who is responsible for checking a teacher's credientials and after hiring, monitoring the standards in the classroom.
I would love it if China made an effort to improve their hiring policy, perhaps made it harder to grant a visa unless you meet said minimum standard.
In every industry there will always be undesirables, more so in a country without regulations or an official watchdog.
It's why teachers like CT gravitate towards China, they couldn't get away with coasting in many other places.
