Re Much Ado About Nothing-Part 3

1: I have been. If I have shortened it to Cambridge thereafter it's because I was assuming that you would make the mental connection yourself given that we are talking about ESL...

2: No, Cambridge ESOL is an internationally recognised exam body, such as IELTS, and suggesting otherwise is just plain idiotic. A school/uni is not affiliated with the institution itself if they merely teach ESOL exam courses, such as preparing students for ESOL exams. In order to gain affiliation status they must be authorized exam centres and there is a rigorous inspection and vetting procedure in place in order to get that affiliation and then standards to be met thereafter. And given that this question about standards is coming from someone who works for a universal where the Dean accepts bribes to pass failing students, you will have to forgive me if I choose to put my belief behind a reputable international institution, not your own, biased and misinformed opinion.

3: Whether you like it or not, external international exams for English ability exist. And it is right that they do so as there should be a singular standard to which English speakers are held... And that is the CEFR. Cambridge ESOL was developed to test ability against the CEFR. It does jot exist solely for private schools, students in state schools also take Cambridge exams for the very reason that they are internationally recognized and respected. You have taken umbrage against it soley because I have endorsed it. Childish behavior.

In the past you have rubbished the British Council, I can provide links if you like?

And you cannot compare TBC and C-ESOL, one is an exam body, the other is a regulatory body. So how would TBC be bettered than the dedicated specialists at C-ESOL to develop ESL exam courses?

Like I said, you're just looking for ways to disprove *anything* I say, which is utterly childish. I've been adult enough to acknowledge the merit of some of your opinions, you would have thought given your advanced years you would be grown up enough to do the same. Appears not.
