How is it a scam, Owl? - Teachers discussion

Owl, can one tell this is a scam by just looking at the ad, or does he have to wait for someone at the school to tell him to send funds? Is there something in the ad I'm missing?

I don't know much about Chinese schools' 'tricks', understand.

Obviously ANY job is a scam if they want money from you up front.

Here is the link to the 'so-called' job offer in Ghana. There were many other links, but this is the only one that is still existing and functioning:

SCAM - Teachers discussion

This is a well known scam. The job and the school, do not exist. These people just want you to send money and if you do, you won't ever hear from them any more. Stay away!

Just for curiosity, could you provide the link to this "job offer"?

Is this school real or fake? - Teachers discussion

Hello,

Has anyone heard about this school before? Favour International School in Accra, Ghana. There was an ad looking for English teachers and I applied for it. After answering some questions, they replied and said that they are interested in hiring me. But, they would like me to transfer some money as deposit and also to take care of my flight tickets, accomodation etc. Would be great if anyone can tell me if this is real!

Regards,
Jack - Germany
