In response to Re: In need of some advice! (Eli)

Hi, I have been looking through the messages here, and I thought I would comment on yours.

I see many people here that are critical of typos (typographical errors) and spelling. English is a language of many exceptions to its own spelling rules. Anyone can simply open a word editor, or open a dictionary to check spelling. Grammar and pronunciation are more important.

Many non-native English speaker use good grammar (until it is corrupted by being with some native speakers), but pronunciation is difficult. I am a native English-speaking Caucasian teaching ESL on the side (part-time) and take pride in having better pronunciation than other native English speakers. I have many students from other classes come to me to ask questions, and tell me they simply cannot understand the other teachers. You need to be very articulate and clear.
