Re: Combat Fake News

I feel quite comfortable with my "overpriced education". Better than not having any at all or not being able to use it for a good purpose, lol.

It is too bad you and others are not able to properly benefit from your overpriced education.

Re: Re Combat Fake News

You are replying to Turnoi but I agree with what you said. Turnoi has a very narrow view of life and can't see all the negative aspects of marriage for men. I would not take much notice of what he has to say.

You are so right, Taffy, I replied to Turnoi.
Very sorry about that. Please ignore my post.

That's okay, Fifi, you have too much work on your plate, they need to find you an assistantess.

Re: Re Combat Fake News

I usually agree with a lot that you write, Taffy, but have to disagree here.

It's not necessary to leave children, as one can leave a body of work that will be used by specialists for decades to come. Or a person without children will have saved a lot of lives (through medicine for example) or improved a lot of lives through being a teacher. Etc etc. Leaving flesh is a natural thing, like animals do: They procreate. Humans can go much higher than that in terms of meaningful participation to this life.

And a lot of adult children do not mourn their old parents; they can't wait to put their hands on the money/inheritance. I am sure you know many people in your own family (like everybody) who started fighting among siblings before the parents died (and kept going afterwards), totally oblivious to the old chap dying in his rocking chair.

About the necessity of marriage for children, I tend to agree. Tend to. But yourself, Taffy, had children with one or maybe two wives before the present one, and you divorced (I think you wrote that some 6 months ago)? Were all your children adult when you divorced?

No, I think you have answered Turnoi, for I didn't write that. You can live a good and rewarding life as a childless man or woman, which is something I have always believed. I have never planned to find a girlfriend. I have never planned to find a wife or marry. I have never planned on having any children. In fact I have never planned on having sex, so Pattaya would tumble down brick by brick if it awaited the likes of me to fill its coffers.

Yes, I agree, you should marry to rear a family but you shouldn't bring up said family on public funds.

Turnoi likes to tinker about and keep busy so I imagine he would have kept happy without a wife or family. But isn't it curious that the worst marriage partners of all make the least able to cope as single people.

Re: Combat Fake News

Open-mindedness comes from good education. The right-wing posters on this board ssem somewhat poorly educated or have problems with their personality. You shouldn't take this board too seriously. It's certainly no longer a board for teachers.

There are better places where to prepare an open-minded future for the next generation.

Re Combat Fake News

Traditionally, marriage is a bond for life between a man and a woman. In our culture(s), it has become a ritual to testify that there is such a bond that is required in order to raise children successfully and prepare them for life as adults. Since "children cannot go their own way", such a bond is required whether it manifests itself in terms of traditional marriage or by a stable relationship without marriage.

Those in favour of merely spreading their sperm without such a relationship do not intend to raise children and have none. In the end, they will pass away from this earth one day without anyone to mourn their departure. Sad!

Re: Combat Fake News

Being left or right-wing is a relative matter. Some call Trump right-wing and Hilary left-wing. Hilary is NOT left-wing, Bernie Sanders with his projects of social reforms like free education for all (including university) certainly is. Right-wing or left-wing are abstract concepts and mean nothing unless they serve to really make the daily lives of ordinary people a little bit better.

You left wing lunatics are losing big time! You know it! Not just you guys but also some factions of the idiotic religious right.

That moronic American professor from Prager U, Brad Wilcox, was torn apart on You Tube by the MGTOW Turd Flinging Monkey and his supporters after he aired his idiotic video "Be a Man, Get Married" 18 months ago. Wilcox is still copping shit to this day. FT/PRC thinks like him.

I think Wilcox was traumatized by TFM and has run away with his tail between his legs.

You should check out the video from Wilcox and the massive hostile response it generated. Not saying that you support marriage, but after watching the TFM response to to Wilcox I guarantee that no Western man ( and probably no men ) will ever want to get married. Marriage sucks big time!

Re: Combat Fake News

Maybe because the Left is busy getting organized and has no time to lose on boards like this one. There are better places where to prepare an open-minded future for the next generation.

Maybe not!

Anyway, I feel I should urge you to go to those 'better places' !

See you!

The Curious poster used to bring stats on various societal trends but he/she stopped posting, probably disgusted by what the moderators have allowed this board to become.

Said poster has posted on the 18th of this month, only 6 days ago. You're jumping the gun, are you not? You, yourself, could be a purveyor of fake news in this respect.

Then again, I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of your other handles is 'Curious'.

Just checking. I agree that this board has changed a lot in the last months. It has been taken over by the alt right.

Thank you for adding substance to the conversation these days.

The Curious poster used to bring stats on various societal trends but he/she stopped posting, probably disgusted by what the moderators have allowed this board to become. Let's hope this board returns to its initial mission of allowing teachers to express their views and report on problems and phenomena they encounter in their daily lives.

Combat Fake News

Marriage is occuring several years later in life in most developed nations, but marriage rates among all adults during their lifetimes still exceeds 90%. Progression analysis for millenials suggests that perhaps 25% will never marry.

Marriage is an individual choice, but children deserve a mother and a father in a committed relationship. Children cannot go their own way.
