Great post!

Said cafe is akin to a greasy diner.

Re Dave's ESL Cash & Carry Cafe

I ve been warning about Dave for years. Keep away from this profiteer and liar who is nothing but a con merchant with no morals or ethics.

Ignore any job offers on his site, whether in China, Thailand, Korea, etc.

You can get yourself in deep shit nowadays in any of these countries if you don't have the correct visa, or proper credentials.
In Thailand you can be thrown into an immigration detention centre for visa violations, especially for working illegally, not a nice place to be.

Take up jobs that say "no experience required", "tourist visa ok" or other crap like that, get caught, expect to be jailed, deported, or very heavily fined before you are allowed to leave the country.

If you have to work illegally in Asia don't go there!

Psst! Hey, want a job? Swing on by Dave's ESL Cash & Carry ESL Cafe.
You see Dave's not one to ask too many questions as long as you have the money to post fake teacher ads for the purposes of collecting international machine readable travel documents and other sensitive data on unsuspecting educators.

Dave's rolling in cash these days cashing in on China's thirst for gullible educators who never went abroad. Rather than actually read the ads that get posted on his cash machine and thinking about things like credibility, Dave hears the sound of money.

Psst! Hey Dave, ever hear of these pending pieces of legislation?

S.2903 - Stop Higher Education Espionage and Theft Act of 2018
S.3171 - Countering the Chinese Government and Communist Party's Political Influence Operations Act

Coming soon baby!
Oh and by the way, just in case you wonder whether or not the United States Federal Government is keeping an eye on these forum boards, or whether or not they're aware of some of the fraud taking place here and the inherent risks these fake job prospects pose to American citizens, nah....I'm sure they have no clue and are totally snow blind. After all, we all know how stupid the feds are.

CASE IN POINT:

Check out this little number drive by a little old lady from Pasadena on weekends. Never mind the rule of law in China, being fined, going to jail, being deported, or being placed in high risk scenarios as your data is being collected and brokered to terrorist cells, or other criminal enterprises. This is an ACTUAL PAID FOR AD seen on Dave's ESL right now. Pay close attention to numbers 7 and 9 in bold and in red. The ad wants to offer you a change in life like a magic pill. You'll end up on the business end of a US Consular Officer visiting you in jail 72-hours after the Chinese are required to give notice that you are in custody. Now, if I was a betting person, I'd say Dave gets a visit from the DHS and a few other acronyms in the near future just to touch base.

Remember folks: Use FERPA, use the 1974 Privacy Act, talk with your campus and make sure your student records are sealed and that the campus supposedly never heard of you before. If you're having problems, contact the US Department of Education Office of Inspector General.

I wonder what the Chinese Consulate folks would say about this ad and the skipping over of China visa law requirements as a condition of legal employment in the great middle kingdom.

Thanks again Dave!
Pssst! Get a lawyer.
