I imagine he's apologizing for what everyone apologizes for - offending someone else. :)

Sorry, if I've misunderstood you. Lets discuss to share knowledge not to attack one another personally.

Anne, Kwanku and Boots, lets stop offending each other and move forward.

My apologies to anyone that I might have offended.

God bless us all.

Anne responded to my post by telling me it was helpful to her. I was referring to her use of obscenities in some of her posts. Either you didn't read those posts or thought obscenities were ok. In either case, I (and Anne) would disagree with you.

Well, she is certainly not responsible for the decisions her school makes, is she? I don't understand the start doctor comment. Certainly you should be aware of the racial connotation of 'lighten up' and should use a term that is more neutral , such as don't take everything so seriously.

No issue with you, solomon. Just meant to be helpful and fair - sorry if it came across any other way.

Re: Enchant de me repondre

Where I work we've had teachers from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Uganda, Jamaica, Scotland (that I can remember) and I have to say that there were good ones and bad ones, but that had nothing to do with where they were from.

Schools that hire teachers from overseas run a big risk and some big expenses (as do teachers looking for jobs from overseas) and if someone hires a bad teacherI think it is natural to try and put the blame elsewhere.

It's not fair, but I think we just have to put up with it, if Anna's teacher was a lazy bum, is the person responsible able to say "I hired a lazy bum." I don't know the Chinese system, but from what I understand this person would then be putting their own job at risk, so instead they say "No more Africans."

It's not fair, but then it is self-preservation.

Good African teachers will open the doors for more of their countrymen, I'm sure of that.

Good luck to you all

Mike.

Lighten up in my post meant to wake up and not to generalize about all Africans because of that so-called bad teacher and that we live in a multi-racial and cultural world so there's no need for hatred.

Anne wrote to clarify that she was only referring to her teacher and some Ghanaian guy in her postings and that's settled. If you want to make it an issue, start doctor.

calling people like this give you a feeling of superiority. you assume everyone else is crazy, and that you're the only sane one. I noticed that when you talk to others you indulged in self-pity. you hate yourself for wasting your talents and for the trobles you're causing to others. consider the connection between your very low self esteem and your misery. you're going through a lot of pain. you peace of mind is non- existent. sad but I see many years of pain and misery for you. Africans deserve respect too.

Mr. Solomon,

Do accept my apologies if I have in anyway offended anyone. I know that I may have been critical at times but my critics is solely aimed at our so-called, Mr. "conclusive" Kwaku. Personally, I have nothing against Africans or Black teachers.

Did I or did I not give credits where it is due? I did credit my former Canadian (Indian) and British teachers (who were migrants from Nigeria) for having taught us well. I did even mention that there are many good African teachers here in China. It is just that when I criticized my former Cameroonian teacher, the M_RONIC MR. KWAKU (who I believe, can't read between lines), start jumping to conclusion and think that I am against Africans.

To me, Mr. Kwaku, he is either D_MB or just plain F_CK_ _G ST_PID.

Please don't tell me to stop harassing him, I aim to and will cross sword with him when the opportunity arise.

One thing for sure, I'll be embarking on a teaching career in a senior middle school and I will not hesitate to tell my new employer to engage African teachers, if they come our way. Like I've said before, teachers are teachers, skin color is of no significance to me.

Good luck, Mr. Solomon. Have fun teaching in China.

Anne, stop generalizing. There are a few open-minded school directors that hire experienced and qualified African teachers and this will continue with or without you or your school. Since your school has decided not to hire anymore-African teachers and you think this is the end for all Africans in China, then you just dont know. Qualified teachers will keep getting jobs regardless of racist schools.

Mr. Kwaku,

What do you do for a living? Are you a teacher? (I doubt you are going to admit that you are one).

If you are, I suggest you pack you bags and head back to where you rightly belong, Ghana. English teachers in this forum can see that my English is incredibly horrific and I am not denying the fact, my English is mistakes ridden and horrendous but yours is as appalling as mine.

My fellow Chinese students can do without an appalling teacher like you. Moreover, your fellow African teachers are struggling to find jobs, and with your demonstration of English; their chances will be as good as dead. You will be the death of all African teachers. There are many good African teachers in China and Im sure they wouldnt want you going around disgracing them.

Go home before they start cursing you to no end.

In that case, we Chinese should starting discriminating all Caucasians and engage Japanese to teach English and French, German ,Spanish and other languages. The Japanese did not only invade, colonized and trampled us, they practically................... (Need I go further into details about what happened in the past)?

I should say the world is a place of culturally, econimically.politacally and enthically diversified one. Discrimination is universal, even in China, there is discriminations imposed by governments and other ignorant Chinese. I say Africa is a land of not only misery, war and famine but also a land where qualified Englsih teachers and French teachers are available. I do not think my Englsih is standard compared with my Cameroonian friends. Why should i say my English is that ? because my Englsih is educated in Chinese environment only when i was 14 years old.

Why do Chinese discriminate Black teachers from Africa , Even black teachers from America? Oh my almighty god , I personnal think why Chinese prefer white to teach Englsih is that China used to be invaded, colonis ed, and trampled by people with the color called WHITE who spoke English.
