3500 is quite common for a university assuming your hours are not very much. Mind you, it's not too hard to get a better level of pay. Usually the private schools pay more but you work more too.

Can anyone tell me anything about what Lin Yi University is like to work for? Is it a legit place, etc? Any info is much appreciated.
Also if I get paid 3500rmb and housing is paid for, can I save any money at all in the smaller cities?
