Try the job board also at http://www.aacircle.com.au/esl-job-circle.htm. There may be something there.

Good luck!

Re: jobs in chile, aregentina???

I did apply to that posting for Costa Rica. I was asked for a copy of my resume. That was about a month ago and I haven't heard a peep from them since.

I notice that with a lot of Latin American postings. I've applied to maybe 150-200 in the last three months. I'd estimate that about 10% have responded. Of those, they usually ask for more details, so I send a resume and then hear no further.

Maybe only one year of experience just isn't enough. I had one person tell me she'd only consider hiring me if I had an MA and 5 to 8 years of experience...

Oh well, I guess I can always get a job at Starbucks.

: The problem with all of Latin America is that schools simply don't
: advertise. The vast majority of schools will only hire people
: who walk into the office for an interview.

: I'm in the same boat as I want to work in Latin America but simply
: can't find much posted on the internet either.

: Your best bet may well be to fly to a city you like with a little
: money in the bank and then start knocking on school doors.

Please take a look at this post from a teacher in Costa Rica:

Hello,

In case it could help: I just did a quick search on the International Jobs board of this site (using the "Search this page" feature under the "CLICK HERE TO POST YOUR JOB OFFER" link, selecting the period since the board started Nov 17 and using Argentina and Chile as keywords) and found these 4 posting (2 are from the same school):

Santiago, Chile
Comunicorp -- Tuesday, 27 January 2004
Ovalle, chile
New York Institute -- Sunday, 14 December 2003
Acapulco, Mexico
Teachers Latin America -- Friday, 28 November 2003
Ovalle, Chile
New York Institute -- Friday, 21 November 2003

Also, in case you are interested in other countries: A school in Panama just posted today April 24 at http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/intl/index.pl?read=1104

Good luck!
