FYI the Queen has what is called the "royal prerogative" with powers to veto. She has, with the heir to the throne Prince Charles, direct access to ministers and the Civil Service although for the latter access is usually through the Privvy Council.

That is what I was trying to get across. In order to be accepted, you are injected with the oath, whether you agree or not is immaterial.Ok, the UK is not an absolute monarchy like some of the Arabian countries, but the fact that the Queen and Prince Philip are best chums with some of them speaks volumes imho. I bet prince philip would love to have an absolute monarchy, and refuse to have anything at all to do with us commoners, in fact, they already do look down on the common folk.
