Taxi driver's gasoline surcharge fee, a line up in front of toilets and a higher elevator charge than in the eiffel tower spoiled my view on the great although polluted city. It's beyond me why one would ask for more money because of high oil prices that are so low now; it's hard to understand the explanation that there are too many people in China and so we have to be patient when we need to use bathrooms; it's difficult to accept a developing country's price tag on a service equal to the one of a well developed economy. If I am to see China as a competetive world nation then I would like to have more than one male and female "WC" that has half an hour line-ups. Well, I'll leave gracefully this phenomenom to the locals to decipher one day.
