American elections aren’t British, so what you are aware of may be quite incomplete; Rich Chinese are moving their money abroad to influence all aspects of our lives. Your naive observations resemble the reporters’ articles that claim Chinese millionaires are leaving their homeland for poor air quality and education in China. The fact is that huge amounts of money are laundered through the Bank of China every day and this government owned institution has multiple times refused to cooperate with western authorities that investigate financial crimes there. Plenty of Chinese freely invest in our nations and San Francisco, NY, Vancouver, Toronto or Madrid are some examples of this; the Italian police investigators somewhere in, I think, Florence are still trying to rap their heads around how the China town there is booming while most other businesses elsewhere struggle. Business and politics most often interface somewhere, and so the US elections are always full of willing donors who seek their future opportunities in political candidates; Jews and Saudis, for instance, have been able to have an impact in America, and Chinese, whether there are 2, 3 or 6 percent of them legally or illegally in the country, are getting there now. Worth mentioning is that any political donations in the US are unlimited unlike in some other nations.

Anyhow, ask yourself why so many more successful “international schools” in China are either own or so well connected to the local government; and, have a look at who goes abroad with money. Think about the Chinese system that cannot be affected by outside influences, and how those very same people in this system laugh at us when they put their dirty money into our real estate, hospitality, textile industries or the elections that are becoming such a gambling casino for the rich and/or powerful in the US.
