Although studying culinary differences between nations is interesting, giving what one cuisine has to offer is essential. This will most certainly assure the authentic taste, atmosphere and the nutritious elements the dish(es) has/have to offer. Have you eaten at Chinese “western” restaurants?

This brings me to the Chinese schools/centers/academic programs/teachers that teach "Chinglish". Tens, if not hundreds of millions of people are fed with fake courses, copycat materials or pushed to believe eager local academics who can’t handle short social exchanges in English with foreigners whatsoever. Have you not seen enough in China?

Anyhow, being considerate to a culture because one is polite is one thing, being thick for reasons that one wish to sell his soul is another. Hasn’t cramming students with scores of random English words directly translated to Chinese proven to be a failure? To learn a language well, one has to be able to accept its culture. This is one reason why many Chinese English users, who have studied for ages in their country, have been incapable to communicate in English sufficiently enough.

In the end, the pitch to sell the incompetently advertised product is only an attempt to continue the unfortunate trend. What it takes to realize that teaching another language requires a degree of pride remains to be seen.
