Imagine a subway car, on train #4 or 5 or 6, traveling from Wall Street to Grand Central Station at rush hour. We have a diverse cross section of U.S. citizens and residents and illegal immigrants, multiple races, nations of birth, languages. There are even wealthy men on their way to their commuter train to Greenwich Connecticut.

Now imagine an Expat bar in Shanghai or Shenzhen or Xiamen. For parallel consistency, let's only include the cohort of U.S. FTs huddled at the bar.

I am confident that the incidence of mental illness, alcoholism, and drug dependency is significantly greater in that Expat bar than on the rumbling subway train.
