The 'Panama Papers', the American presidential election, and that idiot in North Korea all contribute (in my opinion), to the current stance that the Chinese gov is taking.

How it affects FT's is yet to be seen, but they are certainly putting the 'cat-amongst-the-pigeons' with the new rules.

Firstly, the fact that all degrees now need to be verified is going to cause huge problems. The cost of degree verification is huge (by earning standards), and the fact that a great % of FT's have a degree issued from a degree-mill, rather than a genuine one, is also going to cause problems.

I've heard today that South Africa is being taken off the list of recognised NES countries, so that leaves the 'Big 5' - UK, Australia, NZ, USA and Canada and if you don't hold a passport from one of those countries, forget teaching in China !
