Globalization can destroy the tax base of nations when multi-nationals expatriate profits and headquarters. But England's Thatcher-era decision to protect its financial industry from increased taxation was a domestic mistake; the E.U. nations actually have higher corporate taxation than England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. English elites DO prefer globalization, but leaving the EU will not act to redistribute wealth in England. Taxing elites and punishing tax havens (like the Republic of Ireland) takes international cooperation.

Immigration has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. Fascism in support of elitist corporate profits has historically used racism as misdirection.
