Taffy, re your daughter's education.

The US has university towns. So has good ole Blighty, Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrew's, for example and it seems China has too, according to what a US poster implies!

Those towns have many educated white-collar employees and are famous for having professors working there from all over the world. Such academics will obviously require excellent educational facilities for their offspring, freedom of movement within the country without having to register at police stations, the opportunity to retain their homeland nationality while obtaining dual nationality, and last but not least an academic environment where they can do world-changing research along with their international colleagues!

My advice is that you should relocate to one of China's university towns. There your daughter will get an excellent education while you and your wife mix socially with educated academics from all over the world.
