I spend little time reading posts to this board due the high volume of tripe, ignorance, self-pity and unadulterated bullsh*t that is prevalent.

The number of malcontents on this site compared to those(Professionals)that are actually seeking and disseminating pertinent information on teaching and those who wish to enter the ESL field and want to learn from experienced teachers in the ESL World is disproportionately high making any time spent here a complete waste.

That being said, I wish to appeal to the aforementioned cerebrally challenged individuals to read the below article (Yes, you will have to work to accomplish this; follow the link and read the piece).

Then, come back to the board and post your thoughts as to whether or not TESOL teachers should be subject to educational malpractice laws.

After reading your plaintive cries for weeks, I wonder if your ability to empathize with your peers logically extends to the students that you seem to have so unceremoniously brushed aside without regard to their receiving a quality education in your English class? To say nothing of the parents who are spending, perhaps, their entire savings on their offspring to further his/her chance of becoming "SUCCESSFUL."

Let the game begin.

Abstract.
"The field of TESOL is a growing social science. Hundreds of thousands of native English
speakers teach English language skills to students across the globe. The vast majority of
teachers are not qualified to teach English, though the number of instructors undertaking
advanced certificate or degree skills is increasing. There is no precedent for the question,
Can a student sue a TESOL teacher for educational malpractice? but the courts in the U.S,
and the commonwealth countries of Australia and the UK give some insights though
differing. The question raises relevant secondary issues that go to an Educational Course
providers duty of care to provide courses that are fit for the purpose and relevant to the
students proposed course of employment."
