I don't see why these offers qualify as "jokes". I say: Wake up to reality and smell the pollution...
There are more jobs that pay that salaries in that range than others that pay upward of 5000.
I am lucky enough making more but over the last 3 years I have heard of ever more backpackers accepting jobs that pay just one third more than the legal minimum.

It still is considerably more than well-qualified local teachers make...
