Its nice that you care about the future of your friends, but it is their future, not yours. They need to work it out for themselves.

The first respondant advised you to look it up in wikipedia, and the second admittedly knows nothing about Korea. There are too many factors involved in this relationship that we--and you too, probably--know nothing about and never will. This problem is too big, and they need to go to their families and clergy for help with issues like this, not anonymous ESL teachers on the internet. They need to learn to trust their families now, at the start of their relationship, as they won't be able to build the trust they will need to rely on later.
