I completely agree with what you said about the taching method in China. I have a group of students who absolutely refuse to speak English instead they had me bring a Chinese friend to help them. 90 percent of the time they speak in Chinese fussing over some minute point of meaning or usage. They keep elaborate notebooks have me repeat the same sounds over and over again. But make no attempt to converese or speak. After 6 months of 10 hrs a week they can't speak worth shit. But they pay me
just the same and seem very happy! It's the first time I have really gotten a chance to look at how these people learn. It's very sad in a way.They leave for America in 1 month!!!!!!!
