I certainly agree that the 30+% weasel factor doesn't serve as a deterrent (is it meant to?), but this is because too many people coming to China can't really imagine what they're wading into...not because they don't care about the one (or more) in three being rotten. Despite umpteen websites devoted to EFL, a helluva lot of folks wander in here uncontaminated by information. I have to think that if people knew how deep the rabbit hole really goes, their hiring process would be very different indeed.

I have no idea who's smarter than whom, and aren't terribly clear what you're even talking about. My differences with Chinese schools have been purely ethical, in that I have some. ;-{)
