The college does not allow Teachers to be out after 11pm. If you have somebody stay with you overnight you have to report this. Does this happen throughout China Uni/colleges ? I am told these rules are for my safety and made by the Government.
From my own personal experience I can say the above restrictions are imposed upon FT's working in the secondary and tertiary sectors of the Chinese education system throughout China for the reason you've been told on account of recommendations made by the Public Security Bureau. But there will be exceptions. That said, I'd guess they are few and far between, most of them probably at the odd private educational establishment.
