Although your question is meant to be rhetorical, I cannot help but reply that clarity for the sake of clarity should be reason enough. There are many first time readers and occasional readers of this forum who may not be familiar with the indiscriminate use of certain terminologies; therefore, it would seem that "what and who we are talking about" would not always be as "clear" as you would hope. In addition, I feel that the differences between ESL and EFL are so glaring that one should carefully avoid any implication that they are not.
