Are there any pro's to obtaining a CELTA to teach in Japanese/Korean schools, in terms of pay, etc. etc.?

Also, the websites I've seen generally say they pay $2000 (usd)/month. Is that pretty accurate/standard or does it vary widely ? (Besides the usual urban/rural schism)
