China has a legal system. China has libel laws. You can be sued for libel. You would be better served by doing a search of the China Law Blogs, and asking questions in their comments /question section. Search for Western and Chinese barristers in your locale and ask them for an opinion.

Perhaps nothing will come of the threats, however, be prepared, it will cost you little, if anything to do some research into this matter. Possessing knowledge, rather than reading posts from people who seldom know what they are talking about, will give you a much more secure and positive feeling about yourself and your position in this matter.
