Coming from an Asian American family, I must add that because Asians place so much emphasis on education there is an obvious hole of excessive good conscience from a big chunk of the population in Taiwan, China, and Korea so people who try to make a buck end up making a killing even if the quality is minimal. Then the "educators at these bushibans, training centers, and hagwons get greedy and then the "education" experience is probably the last thing on the business plans of these schools. We as ESL teachers can learn a lot, but only in the politics/deception areas of the ESL industry. I assure you that if some of these places tried pulling this kind of crap I would be driving to the District Attorney's office in the state where I live in back in America and immdediately be pressing charges along with massive monetary damages.
