I am a retired public school teacher and have been tutoring for the last 5 years.

The biggest problem I've always had was teaching correct pronunciation. I found that children get words wrong mainly from foriegn born parents ( even British and Australian!) and its difficult to break the habits.

Aside from the Nooalf CD, I have found the best thing is to make watching network news shows a homework assignment. I also tape Ted Kopel's Night Line & play it during class. Sometimes I will use Leno or Letterman's monologue, if my class is old enough.

The problem with taping shows is that its time consuming to show them with all the pauses to discuss pronunciation and grammar.

Anybody know a faster way? Maybe something on DVD thats not too expensive?
