Ok cunning linguist, thanks for clearing that up. I understand that if an FT at a university in China is just abusing other teachers and staff for no reason without any provacation then they would probably want to get rid of that FT.

What you said about FT's at Chinese universities generally having much freedom and flexibility to teach how and what they want is true. Add the mostly short working hours and good conditions to that then teaching at a university in China is generally a good bet ( although I worked at a crap one in Hubei recently ) I have had some good uni jobs in China before.

The FT who was dismissed, did he/she get paid and recieve a reference/release letter?
